Christmas 2011

One of our most favorite  Oh what fun we did have this Christmas!  I don't know how all those amazing women whose blogs I subscribe to do it - keep their blog up-to-date all through the holidays!  Amazing!  What seems to be my claim to fame lately is, "Better late than never!"  :)

Flyer for School

My first graphic design "job"!  Thanks to one of my most dear friends, I surprisingly was offered my first "paying gig" for my graphic design.  THAT was a surprise!  My friend claimed I needed "projects" and I couldn't help but think, "And, where will I get the time to do more "projects"?!?"  She was right though, and I was thrilled to give it a try.

So, I'm making monthly flyers for a school and I think that's cool (yes, you'll have to get used to my corny humor!)  Here's my first one!

I even learned how to type in Spanish thanks to this site
for my Spanish version servicing the bilingual surrounding community.

Our 8th Annual Halloween Bash!

Our "Party of the Year"!!!  This year...spiders were EVERYWHERE!!!

Always starting with the invitations!  Thanks Zazzle!  They produce some of the best-priced, great quality invitations I've seen so far!
Along came a spider, maybe 2, maybe 3...all over our home for Halloween!  I just LOVE Memory Mixer for making my high resolution images for my "going big" signs & Staples for producing huge black and white prints-CHEAP!
And what's a Halloween Party without a Costume Contest?  Congrats to Spiderman (1st time my immediate family won our contest...congrats to our 3 year old son!) and Heat Miser with her hubby dressed as Snow Miser (my brother & sister-in-law)!
I had fun decorating my hallway photo frames with these me-made graphics (again, cheaply printed at Staples!)  It made for an arachnophobia-strictin victim's living nightmare! Bwoo-ha-ha-ha!

Getting started...Our Daily Bread

It all started with this dialogue with our most favorite local farmer (who also happens to be one of our church's founders) on the way out of church one Sunday while he was handing out Our Daily Bread:

Favorite Farmer:  "Here you go, Tiff!"

Me:  "No thanks, [Favorite Farmer], I believe in not taking something I won't use.  I'm just 'not there' just yet.  Soon, soon!"

Favorite Farmer:  "Then, here...just don't 'not use it'." (while letting me not leave without it.)

Mea sigh and a smile

That dialogue was brought to you by...God!  Afterall,

Every good and perfect gift is from above... James 1:17

So, for me (as an adult) - learning more and more about Jesus and how He wants me to live on a personal level (not just at church) - it all started there.

Thank You God [working through my Favorite Farmer]

Side note [my green living related]:  You can also have it delivered to your inbox each morning by clicking here!  Save some paper and it's just one less thing you can misplace!

my challenge for you:  read your Daily Bread before reading your email for the day.  Worked for me!
